WVBA Celebrates 2025 Excellence in Broadcasting Winners, Honors Jeff Jenkins

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Broadcasters Association (WVBA) today announced the winners of the 2025 Excellence in Broadcasting Awards, honoring exemplary performance in television, radio, and network broadcasting across the Mountain State. 

The presentation of the Dale B. Miller Distinguished Broadcaster Award to Jeff Jenkins capped the evening, celebrating his outstanding contribution to West Virginia broadcasting.

In television categories, winners included leading stations such as WOWK-TV, WSAZ-TV, WBOY-TV, WOAY-TV, WVNS-TV, WCHS-TV, WDTV-TV, WVVA-TV, and others recognized for excellence in community outreach, breaking news, features, investigative reporting, digital media, promotion, and station performance. Notably, WSAZ-TV (Huntington/Charleston) earned Television Station of the Year—Large Market, while WDTV-TV (Clarksburg) was awarded Television Station of the Year—Small Market. 

On the radio side, stations across genres were honored, including country, CHR, AC/Oldies, rock, news/talk/sports, morning shows, on-air personality awards and more. Among the top honors: WHKX-FM, WHAJ-FM, WVAF-FM, WMGA-FM, WCST-FM, WAJR, WCHS, MetroNews, and others took home major awards. 

“The creative energy, journalistic integrity and technical skill on display this year underscore the critical role local broadcasters play across West Virginia,” said WVBA leadership. “Congratulations to all recipients and thank you to our membership for continuing to elevate our industry.”
